Coronavirus Update – Year 12 Students

17th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Due to the number of staff that are having to self-isolate as a result of updated guidance from the government regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus, we have had to suspend lessons for Year 12 students.  At the moment this will be for the remainder of the week. Students are being asked to self-study and should have access to materials to enable this. This was a difficult decision and was based on consideration of the safety of all the students in school.

Our plans, at present, are for all classes for the other year groups to continue as normally as possible, however some of these classes may be taught by a different teacher than normal.

The ICT team and support staff have been working hard all morning to ensure that all pupils know how to access the valuable online learning resources that we will be providing in the event of a full school closure.

Today all pupils have been asked if they have access to the internet from home, and if they know how to access their school email and password. This will be the one way that pupils will be able to access work from home, should we be asked to close the school due to coronavirus.

If your child was absent from school today, or for any reason is not been able to access their school email, please get in touch with our ICT Team on:

Many thanks for your understanding during these challenging times. We will continue to update you as and when we receive further government guidance. Please check your email regularly for further communications, as this, alongside our website and social media feeds, will be our main form of communication.
