Easter Message

A huge thank you for your support in the return to school for all students.  We are very proud of the way we have responded to the government requirements around COVID and Lateral Flow Testing and the way you have helped us to restart face to face learning in school.

I expect you are looking forward to a well-earned break over Easter. Here are a few reminders for the Summer Term:

We have organised a big drive on rewards for the Summer term with some double points weeks and a very well-stocked school shop for students to claim their reward points. There will be more information on this from Mrs Duffield and team – we’d like to thank them for their work on this.

With the improving weather and rising temperatures, we will be making some changes which will come into effect after the Easter holiday.

Students will no longer need to wear coats, hoodies or jumpers (other than the school jumper) in class, as the ambient temperatures will be high enough to ensure comfort, even with the need to keep rooms ventilated.  Of course, they may still wish to wear coats to school in case of inclement weather – which is perfectly acceptable – but hoodies and jumpers will no longer be permitted in place of a coat. Students will need to bring and wear their school jacket / blazer at all times.  They may choose to wear the school jumper (with school badge) as an optional addition but this cannot be worn in place of the blazer, only in addition.

A reminder of the uniform expectations here: https://www.coombedean.co.uk/the-school/uniform/.  Can I ask that you particularly note the hair colour and nail requirements?

Instead of an Easter egg, perhaps some students might like some new stationery?!  Here is a list of the equipment all learners need:  https://www.coombedean.co.uk/about-us/ready-to-learn-school-equipment-list/

If there are any concerns about financial hardship, please be in contact with the Year Team Leaders, so that they can support you.

We hope you have a well-deserved break, and that you are able to benefit from some of the lockdown easing.
