Important Update from the Headteacher

Our Plans for Half-term and the Remainder of the Year

Dear Parent/Carers,

Many thanks, once again, for all your support in these challenging times. I am still not able to give you a definitive update about our plans for any potential re-opening, as the DfE has yet to release any detailed guidance to secondary schools. As Rob Haring, WeST CEO, has tentatively suggested in his letter we may be in a position to partially re-open to Year 10 from Monday 15 June, and we are working hard behind the scenes to prepare for this. I would encourage you and your child(ren) to not worry about this. When we have something definite to report I will be in touch.

In the meantime, please remember that next week would have been our summer half-term. Staff will not be setting work and I would encourage you to take the opportunity to have a break from ‘home-school’. If your experience is anything like mine (caring for a very inquisitive and active four year old) it will be an exhausting business!

Over half-term our Edu-care provision will only be open on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 May, from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

From Monday 1 June, Edu-care will resume each weekday from 9.00am to 3.00pm. This provision is for vulnerable children and those of key workers who have no alternative childcare arrangements. Please help us protect our pupils and staff from infection by only using Edu-care if you absolutely must. Should you require your child(ren) to attend Edu-care on any day between Monday 1 June and Friday 12 June, please use our online booking form by clicking the link below.

Other colleagues will be in contact with our plans for supporting learning from home for the remainder of this academic year.

For now I wish you a restful Bank Holiday weekend. Stay safe!
