Maritime and Coastguard Agency Visit

We were delighted in our recent Applied Learning Day to welcome visiting speakers from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency who spoke to our Year 10 students about coastal safety, including the dangers associated with the activity known as Tombstoning.  It is a sad fact that Devon sees a high incidence of water related teenage deaths – an unwanted consequence of living in this beautiful part of the world.

As fair weather increases, alongside the attraction of water and coastal sports we would ask that parents speak with children about the safe and respectful use of our local environment.  Please encourage them to join organised groups and receive the correct training to ensure that they use this wonderful resource that is on our doorstep safely.
