‘Matilda’ Production at The Theatre Royal

In recognition of their hard work and progress in English lessons, 29 Year 7 students were treated to an evening at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth. ‘Matilda the Musical’ is a stage musical based on the 1988 children’s novel of the same name, by Roald Dahl.

The production was entertaining from beginning to end, and the stage designs were spectacular and innovative. The entire cast were fantastic, and the main character, Matilda, and the evil yet funny Miss Trunchbull, were the true stars of the show.

The audience were treated to a medley of songs from the show, including ‘Naughty’ and ‘Revolting Children’.

Although there were moments of sadness, the story enthralled the audience and there was lots of laughter too.

Thank you to all the students who attended.  Your behaviour was a credit to Coombe Dean School.
