Recognition for our Amazing Landscape Designers

The Coombe Dean Sherford Garden Project

We were incredibly grateful this week to welcome back Steve Warren-Brown (Managing Director of YGS Landscapes), Steve Ricketts (Sherford Skills Centre) and Emma Hewitt (Building Plymouth), who all returned to meet with our amazing Year 10/11 Landscape Designers.

During the Sherford Garden Project  last year, our Landscape Designers participated in the ‘first of its kind’ work experience placement on our local Sherford site.  Steve Warren-Brown thanked each and every pupil for their dedication in making this opportunity happen, and for being a positive influence on possible future opportunities – not only for Coombe Dean, but for other schools.  He presented each student with a pack that, if they so desired, would enhance their CVs and stand them in good stead should they wish to apply for apprenticeship opportunities.  Steve Ricketts spoke about the opportunities currently taking place in the Sherford Skills Centre, and Emma Hewitt gave our students a valuable insight into the mass of options available within the construction industry – and also how their landscape project will aid them with potential applications.

Coombe Dean School would like to extend a big thank you to Steve Warren-Brown, Steve Ricketts and Emma Hewitt for all their hard work and dedication.  Watch this space future Year 10 Landscapers, and those interested in construction – this could be you!!
