Tall Ships Day Sail

On Saturday 29th March, 9 intrepid young Coombe Dean sailors embarked on a Tall Ships training day.

We all met our crew at the Mayflower Marina, watched a large seal swim by, sailed out by the Breakwater, into Cawsands Bay, back to Jennycliff for lunch, then up the river Tamar to sail under the bridge (which was a tight fit with the height of our mast).

This day is a precursor to the actual sailing week in July when we hope to sail to either France, The Channel Islands or the Isles of Scilly (if the weather will allow).

All our sailors had a great time and are looking forward to their summer expedition.

Thank you to the Island Trust for hosting us, and well done to the following sailors: Brandon Burnard, Cathey Lindsay, Immerna Hamer, Jack Wilson, James Reader, Jamie Ventor, Joshua Cruickshank, Samuel Curnow and Zack Spaulding.
