Year 12 Geography Fieldtrip

As part of compulsory fieldwork for their AS Geography qualification, Year 12 Geography students visited both Slapton and Ivybridge/Plymouth this week. Whilst in Slapton, students carried out fieldwork to identify whether longshore drift was occurring in the area, and the impacts of this on the physical appearance of the coastline. The Plymouth trip allowed students to investigate whether the environmental quality of the city centre was affected as you travel away from Drake’s Circus.

Staff were impressed with students, who collected a lot of data that will be beneficial to helping them achieve their AS examinations. Although both days were incredibly cold, students were highly proactive, and did not let that deter their enthusiasm.

Students will now use what they have learnt when thinking about what their coursework for Year 13 will entail.
