Fun at Science Club!

This week at Science Club, our pupils once again carried out some more exciting experiments. They learned about how a catalyst can be used to speed up a chemical reaction...

First they watched a demonstration of elephants toothpaste, which shows how hydrogen peroxide can be broken down very quickly by adding a chemical catalyst. They then went on to make their own mini versions. Their funky foam used yeast to speed up the reaction, and they did their own investigations to see what would happen if they added different amounts of the chemicals -and very much enjoyed seeing the different colours mixing together!

Also this term, Science Club have been fire writing and investigating density by making sugar rainbows!
