PSSP Primary Basketball Competition was a Great Success

Coombe Dean School hosted the PSSP primary basketball competition on Thursday 26th February.  6 schools (Montpelier, Whitleigh, Elburton, Pilgrim, Keyham Barton and Pomphlett) attended and took part in a round-robin event.  The standard was high, and the competition was fierce. Many baskets were scored.  The teams and games were ably managed by our very talented sports leaders who warmed the groups up, refereed, kept scores and motivated the children to play their best games.  Well done and thanks to Finlay S, Jack G, Ruben G, Rufus L, Ashraf A, Jack B, Mason O and Reuben C, who were all praised highly by visiting school staff.

The winners of the competition were Montpelier.  They returned to Coombe Dean on Thursday 5th March to play in a final against the winner of the PSSP Plympton Academy competition. Jack G, Ruben G, Rufus L, and Harry M continued to be professional in roles ranging from welcoming teams through to warming up, coaching and refereeing.
