Year 11 Every Step Counts

Year 11 is an important year. On this page you will find useful information about our "Every Step Counts" initiative, including the support available for students before and after school.

Every session, every revision opportunity, and every moment of focus contributes to success — and Period 6 is designed to support students in making every step count towards their goals. Our Period 6 programme runs in three main phases throughout Year 11. Phase 1 is now complete, and we have moved into phase 2.

This half term’s (October Half Term- Christmas) Period 6 programme will include:

  • Targeted invitation-only sessions in Maths and English (taking place on Mondays and Tuesdays). Each session will focus on specific areas identified as needing additional support.
  • NEA-focused sessions on the remaining days, designed to support students with coursework-based subjects, many of which have submission deadlines in January. These sessions will provide valuable additional time for students to complete their work to a high standard.

The NEA schedule is as follows:

    • Tuesday: iMedia
    • Wednesday: DT and Art
    • Thursday: Business
    • Friday: Food and PE

If your child has been invited to attend any of these sessions, you will receive (or may have already received) a separate letter with further details.

We expect all students to attend every session for the subjects they have been invited to, as part of their commitment to the “Every Step Counts” ethos.
