Art Students Visit St Ives

Our GCSE Art students enjoyed an inspiring trip to the beautiful coastal town of St Ives
Students visited the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, where they explored a range of exhibitions and works by iconic British artists. The visit gave students the chance to experience world-class art up close, enriching their understanding of different styles, materials, and techniques.
Beyond the galleries, students took time to sketch the stunning Cornish coastline, capturing the light, movement and atmosphere that have drawn artists to the area for generations.
It was a fantastic opportunity to develop ideas for their coursework and find inspiration in both the natural landscape and the creative legacy of the town.
A big thank you to the Art Department for organising such a rewarding experience – and to our students for representing Coombe Dean with curiosity and creativity throughout the day.
