On Tuesday this week, we welcomed award-winning documentary filmmaker and author Matt Dickinson to school for a series of engaging workshops and assemblies for Year 7 and 8. Matt shared his writing journey, his Everest adventures, and the real-life experiences that shape his books.

Students took part in interactive workshop activities and had the opportunity to ask questions about what life on Everest is really like. They got a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a professional author and director as Matt spoke about his time filming with Bear Grills and the thought process behind his stories.

Matt is one of the few climbers to reach and film the summit of Everest and return alive, so his visit was truly inspiring to our students and left students excited to read more and explore what pathways they may take in the future.
