A Night to Celebrate Success at Coombe Dean

There was a real sense of pride and celebration at Coombe Dean as we welcomed students and their families to our 2026 Celebration Evenings. Across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 events, it was wonderful to see so many members of our community gathered together to recognise the achievements, dedication and character of our students.

Each evening followed a structured programme reflecting our values of Community, Integrity and Opportunity, with awards presented for subject excellence, endeavour, attainment, wider contribution and academic success, culminating in the prestigious Headteacher’s Awards.

The Key Stage 3 evening celebrated the achievements of students in Years 7–9, recognising their enthusiasm for learning, positive attitudes and growing confidence. Awards were presented across all subjects, alongside recognition for contributions to clubs, sport and enrichment activities, highlighting the breadth of opportunity enjoyed by our students.

Our Key Stage 4 evening acknowledged the commitment and resilience of students in Years 10 and 11 as they progress through their GCSE courses. In addition to subject awards, students were recognised for both Endeavour and Attainment, celebrating not only outcomes but the determination and hard work behind them.

Academic Excellence

Across both evenings, a very select number of students received Academic Awards. These awards recognise students who consistently demonstrate exceptional achievement, intellectual curiosity and a commitment to excellence across all subjects.

Pastoral Awards

Pastoral Awards recognise students who have made a truly positive contribution to the school community. Nominated by Year Team Leaders, these awards celebrate resilience, kindness, integrity and the ability to support others – qualities that are just as important as academic success.

Headteacher’s Awards

The evening concluded with the highly anticipated Headteacher’s Awards, celebrating students who truly embody the values of Coombe Dean through their character, leadership and contribution to school life.

What made these evenings so special was the opportunity to celebrate success together. Seeing students recognised in front of their families created a powerful sense of pride and community, reminding us of all the talent, dedication and potential within our school.

We are incredibly proud of all of our students and grateful to the families and staff who support them every step of the way.
