WE CARE Summer Trip 2026

On Monday 29th June, we had the pleasure of taking 47 WE CARE students on a fantastic day of adventure and fun.

Our journey began with a coach trip to Paignton, where we boarded the historic Dartmouth Steam Railway. We were lucky enough to have our own carriage reserved as we travelled the 6.7-mile route to Kingswear. Students enjoyed breathtaking views of the Devon coastline, listened to the distinctive sound of the steam engine and were impressed by the sight of the Royal Naval College overlooking Dartmouth. A particular highlight was watching the locomotive being refuelled with coal and water, ready for its next journey.

The adventure continued with a visit to Splashdown, where students cooled off on the water slides, enjoyed a few cheeky ice creams and spent time relaxing with friends. The afternoon was filled with laughter, excitement and plenty of opportunities to make happy memories together.

The trip was a wonderful way to celebrate our WE CARE students and recognise the resilience, kindness and support they show every day.

A special thank you must go to our local councillor, Maria Lawson, and her team for their generous support through a Councillor Community Grant, which funded the coach and made this trip possible for our WE CARE group along with the other donations we received from our wonderful community too.
