On Thursday 19th June, we came together to celebrate our Year 13 students at their Leavers’ Assembly, marking the end of their journey at Coombe Dean School.

The afternoon was filled with games, activities and photographs, giving students the opportunity to reflect on their time at Coombe Dean and celebrate the memories they have made over the past seven years. Following Break 2, students gathered to enjoy snacks and drinks, play Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4, and take photographs beneath a beautifully decorated balloon arch.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was their final Friday Challenge – a light-hearted competition where students had to guess members of staff from their baby photographs. This was followed by time to socialise, take more photographs, chat with teachers and friends, read the leavers’ booklet produced by the Senate, and look back through their Year 7 photographs. The event concluded with heartfelt goodbyes as students shared hugs and farewells before leaving at around 4.00pm.

The assembly was a truly special occasion and an opportunity to recognise not only the academic achievements of this exceptional cohort, but also the friendships, memories and experiences that have shaped their time at school.

These students began their Coombe Dean journey in September 2019, arriving as Year 7 students and embarking on seven years of learning, growth, challenge and achievement. Throughout their time here, they have overcome obstacles, supported one another, developed as individuals and contributed enormously to the life of our school community.

As they complete their post-16 education at Coombe Dean, they now draw the curtain on their school careers and take their first steps towards the next chapter of their lives. We are immensely proud of every student in this cohort and would like to thank them for the positive impact they have had on our school.

We wish them every success and happiness for the future.
