Bronze DofE Expedition Success for Year 9 and 10 Students

Y9 and Y10 students successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

Last weekend, 35 students from Year 9 and Year 10 successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition – a true test of teamwork, resilience, and outdoor skills.

The two-day adventure began on Saturday, with students walking from Jennycliffe to Coombe Dean, taking in scenic coastal paths through Bovisand, Heybrook Bay, and Wembury. After setting up camp, they cooked their own team meals and spent the night under canvas – a fantastic experience for building independence and camaraderie.

On Sunday, with tired legs but high spirits, the students made the return journey back to Jennycliffe.

Throughout the expedition, students demonstrated grit, determination, excellent navigation, and even some impressive cooking skills! Most importantly, all 35 students returned safely – still smiling and showing a great sense of community spirit.

A huge well done to everyone who took part. You should be proud of your achievement!
