Students at Coombe Dean School are celebrating a fantastic set of A Level results today, reflecting not only impressive academic attainment but also the determination, resilience and commitment shown by a remarkable Year 13 cohort.

While the school will share further details on destinations and overall outcomes in due course, today is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate some of the outstanding individual achievements that have characterised this year's results.

Deputy Headteacher with oversight of Post-16, Mr Jacks, said:

"We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved. Today's results reflect years of hard work, dedication and perseverance. What makes this cohort particularly special is that their success comes in many forms. Alongside students achieving exceptional grades, we have seen many young people make tremendous progress from their GCSE starting points, exceeding expectations and demonstrating what can be achieved through ambition and commitment. Every student should take great pride in their achievements, and we look forward to seeing the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for them."

One of the standout success stories this year is Henry W., who made exceptional progress from his GCSE starting point to achieve an A* in Mathematics, an A in Further Mathematics and a Distinction in Business Studies. Henry's achievements exemplify the significant progress made by many students across the cohort.

Other students whose outcomes reflect outstanding progress over the course of their sixth form studies include:

• Freddie N. - A in Physics, A in Computer Science and A in Mathematics.
• Lauren R. - A* in Criminology, Distinction* in Sport and C in Psychology.
• Fin J. - A in Criminology, B in Psychology and C in Computing.
• Eliza D. - A in Religious Studies, A in Criminology and B in Psychology.
• Ava K. - A in Psychology, Distinction* in Business Studies and B in Geography.

Each of these students significantly exceeded expectations from their GCSE starting points, demonstrating the impact of hard work, resilience and commitment throughout their time in the sixth form.

Among the cohort were a number of students achieving an average grade profile of A or better across their courses. Leading the way was Isla H-S., who achieved an exceptional three A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics, alongside an A in Biology.

• Polly D. - A* in Art, A* in History and B in Biology.
• Maja M. - A* in Mathematics, A in Geography and A in Physics.
• Robyn J. - A* in French, A in History, A in English Literature and Distinction* in Music.
• Heidi K-L. - A in Art, A in History, Distinction* in Business Studies and A* in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
• Lila H. - A in Drama, Distinction* in Music, B in English Literature and A* in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
• Oliver B. - A in Chemistry, A in Mathematics, A in Physics and A in French.

These achievements reflect not only academic excellence but also the character, determination and resilience shown by students throughout their time at Coombe Dean School. Staff are immensely proud of the commitment shown by the cohort and the positive contribution they have made to the wider school community.
