Coombe Dean Teachers Complete Dartmoor Classic for Charity

A group of our determined staff took on the challenge of the Dartmoor Classic bike ride to raise funds for the school’s own charity, WE CARE.

On Sunday, 22nd June, a group of determined staff from Coombe Dean School took on the challenge of the Dartmoor Classic bike ride to raise funds for the school’s own charity, WE CARE.

The event, held on Dartmoor’s demanding terrain, tested the endurance and resilience of everyone involved. Riders tackled steep climbs, winding descents, and unpredictable weather, but their spirits remained high throughout.

Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, and the wider school community, the team raised an impressive £1,090 to support WE CARE, which provides vital help for bereaved students, young carers and forces families at our school.

“We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part. This achievement not only demonstrates physical and mental strength but also a strong sense of compassion and community spirit, which fully encompasses the ethos of Coombe Dean School” - Mrs Granville, Headteacher

Well done to all involved for representing Coombe Dean School with such commitment and heart, and a special thank you to all who sponsored the team.

The teachers taking part were:

Mr Thomas, Mr Sinclair, Mr Collins, Mr Bellamy, Mr McDermott, Mr Dunstan, Mr Wilson and Mr Libby.
