Student Senate members worked collaboratively to sort and prepare the donations, ensuring everything was ready for collection. We chose to organise the collection in June because we know that people tend to donate in the winter time, especially around Christmas time, but that donations dwindle in the summer months and families are left in need of basic food and supplies.

During the collection, it was shared that demand for support from the Plymouth Food Bank had risen significantly across the city. The appreciation, and the need, for the generosity shown by our school community was clear.

There is also enthusiasm to support the promotion of next year’s appeal, helping to raise even more awareness in the lead-up to the collection.

Let us continue to build on this year’s achievement and see if, together, we can make an even greater impact next year.
