These resources are accessible to students in all year groups and have recently been refreshed to support effective independent study.

The revision section now includes two new videos, designed specifically for:

• Parents and carers, and
• Students

These videos explain:

• What effective revision really looks like
• The revision methods we explicitly teach and recommend at Coombe Dean School
• How students can build strong, sustainable revision habits throughout their time at secondary school

This information is intended to be used regularly, not just in exam years. Research and experience show that understanding how to revise effectively has the greatest impact when it is embedded early and revisited often throughout a child’s school journey.

These videos are particularly useful for any parent or carer who feels unsure and thinks:

“I don’t know how to help them revise.”

They provide clear guidance and reassurance, ensuring that the advice students receive at home is consistent with the approaches taught in school.

We strongly recommend that both parents/carers and students in all year groups take some time to watch the videos and explore the revision resources available.
