Y9 Leaders Thrive Hosting Primary Inclusion Volleyball Festival

Coombe Dean was proud to host the PSSP Primary Inclusion Volleyball Festival this morning, supported brilliantly by nine outstanding Year 9 leaders.
We welcomed pupils from Courtlands, Hooe, Montpelier, Pilgrim, Widey Court, and Hyde Park primary schools, all taking part in an event designed to celebrate cooperation over competition.
Small courts were set up across the sports hall, divided using a bench as a net, and pupils played an adapted version of volleyball while seated, using a light balloon ball. This inclusive format allowed every child to participate confidently, enjoy the game, and experience success.
It was incredibly rewarding to see the pupils’ progress throughout the morning. Our Year 9 leaders were instrumental in this—showing patience, kindness, and a great sense of fun as they coached, encouraged, and celebrated achievement.
A huge well done and thank you to our superb leaders:
Finlay S, Jack G, Ruben G, Rufus L, Ashraf A, Jack B, Mason O, Reuben C, Alexander F, and Ashton P.
Their maturity and teamwork helped make the festival a warm, welcoming, and joyful experience for everyone involved.
