Year 7 & 8 Girls Football Tournament

Our Y7/8 Girl's Football team came third in the EFL Girls Football Cup.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 7 & 8 Girl’s Football team competed in the EFL Girls Football Cup. The team had a very successful afternoon, going undefeated in the group stage, resulting in a third-place finish from seven teams. Unfortunately, they were narrowly defeated (2-0) in the Quarter Final match after an evenly fought game against Ivybridge.

Fantastic results considering the team did not have a designated Goalkeeper, so the girls worked together to share this position across their 8 matches. Overall, it was a great display of high-quality Football from the girls.

In a team full of stars there were standout performances from Ruby E (Yr8) & Olivia A (Yr7) who both defended amazingly all afternoon, our goal scorers, Alessia V (Yr8), Livvy G (Yr8) and Willow M (Yr7) as well as Amelia H (Yr7) who stepped up playing by in goal with a stella performance in the Quarter Final match. Excellent teamwork was on show by the whole squad.
