Welcome to Coombe Dean Post-16! This section of the website is all about our excellent provision for students in Year 12 and 13. 

We are proud to be the Post-16 centre with the highest value added score of any Sixth Form College in Plymouth for the year 2024/25. This means that students who came to Coombe Dean Post-16 made more progress from their GCSE starting points than students at other school sixth forms - even the selective grammar schools. On average students at Coombe Dean Sixth Post-16 in 2025 made half a grade more progress than the national average. 

Post 16 is about building on the foundations laid at GCSE to explore new and familiar subjects in greater depth and detail and look towards higher education and training and, eventually, a career that suits you. Whether you have a clear plan right now or are still exploring what’s out there, we will help you to take that next step towards your future and will support you to find a programme of study that inspires and challenges you for the next two years. 

We are an inclusive sixth form offering a range of courses to take students on the next step of their learning journey. Coombe Dean works in partnership with Plymstock School, Hele’s School and Eggbuckland Community College sixth forms to enable students to access a wider selection of academic and applied courses.
