Service Families

Our Armed Forces Support Group (AFS) is aimed at military children who have a parent(s) serving in our British Armed Forces.  The support group is open within all year groups of our school.

Are you a member of an Armed Forces/Services family?
If you are, you will be aware of the mix of pride and concern that is a part of everyday life when family members are away. You probably know that school routines are helpful when you are dealing with separation and worry. But there are days that are more challenging and support is available in school for those tough days. We are part of the national MKC Heroes group that aims to help students with service family links in schools. You do not need to join – if you have family members in the military service, you are already a member.

A drop-in group has been set up weekly by Mrs Wilkins.  For Year 7–9, these are during break 1 every Tuesday and for Year 10 and above every Friday during break 2 in A3. This is for military children to come along and gain some support if needed. It is an opportunity to speak to other children who may have parents who are away or about other issues that military families can face.
